Mt Healthy Hatchery

Hi! I purchased some chicks from a Tractor Supply store back in March! I got 10 and I have 9 left. It was an accidental death, no issues at all! And they get the chicks from Mt. Healthy! So I decided to order some more chicks from the hatchery. I ordered 17 more, but I went there and picked them up. Because I didn't want to stress them out being shipped. That is very hard on them. I couldn't believe how nice it was there. And I was amazed at how great the chicks looked. They all seemed to be very healthy and lively!!!! I only live about 40 minutes from there. I ordered them last week one day and picked them up Sun. Brought them straight home and they ate and drank right away. They were hatched on that same day when I got them!!!

I am puzzled. I earlier ordered 15 chicks from Mt. Healthy. When I tried to have Tractor Supply special order me some R.I. Reds they said 25 was the minimum the hatchery would ship and I had to order 25. If they get their's from Mt. Healthy, why would I have to order 25?

I have ordered once this year, Barred Rocks and White Rocks. One of the Whites was D.O.A. but they had sent an extra Barred. Now if it just isn't a rooster.

I have had the same problem with TSC but when I ordered direct from Mt. Healthy everything was fine. TSC may be the culprit

What are the red and white hens? These look exactly like what I got from TSC as production reds. They obviously are not. What breed are yours?

Sounds like Red Sexlinks to me.

When I ordered from them, I ordered 15 Ameraucanas. They put several extras in. All arrived in great health. They were very pretty birds. I split the order with someone else. I still have one of them(the rest were killed in a dog attack). She lays an egg a day. I have had her for several years now. She is a friendly and sweet pullet.

Never heard of Mt Healthy Hatchery, sorry.
I got chicks from Ideal poultry a year and a half ago and was not at all please and would not recommend them. I had a lot of DOA's and they didn't ship my replacements for 3 months. The quality of the breeds are poor, in my opinion. 2 out of 4 Sebrights have extremely crooked beaks. One of the frizzles was a double frizzle, we lost "Ugly Rooster: in January. The other frizzles don't look frizzle at all and with Ugly Rooster gone we have discovered they aren't producing any frizzle looking chicks either! None of the 4 Black Crested White Polish are white, they are black, blue and splash but not white. I just wouldn't recommend Ideal Poultry to anyone.

I ordered online from Mt Healthy this past spring and let me tell you, everyone tells me how incredibly healthy my chickens look! I never had one issue with any of the 15 we bought. They are laying eggs every day now! We plan to buy from them again!

Yes I have used Healthy Hatcheries 2 Years ago and was extremly pleased! I ordered 40 Rhode Island Pullets. Recieved 41 and only 1 died the same day as pick up. I still have all but 1 and just now ordered 25 more. They have a 90% accuracy of sexing but all of mine were females. Not even 1 male. They are big and beautiful hens and lay great and large eggs. I highly recommend this company.
