Hi Tori,

Didn't hear about the eruption until this morning. Looks like was on your side with the winds, so far at least.

I checked the Alaska Air site and so far 16 flights have been cancelled, including all of the ones to and from Kodiak. Sigh, another week without mail.

You think I can pay my bills late and use the volcano as an excuse? Haha!

I'm kind of stuck on this darn island, but if there is anything I can do, let me know, okay?

Thanks guys... other than losing power for an hour this morning (OMG, panic, 3 incubators and 5 brooders need power!!!

) we're doing ok!

Hubby's on his way home with extra feed, hopefully gas, and we're set on water for now... I just hope the winds don't change like they said they were this morning. We could still see a dusting of ash just from the fact that it's shooting it up so high. They lost the summit seismograph, and the summit webcam... not a good sign. And it's cloudy so we can't see anything. I'll try to keep you posted... but if power goes out again, I can't post.

We're about 70 miles as the crow flies.

Not very far, huh? Hope it doesnt get worse that it is now. The movie "Volcano"was on TV today. I always roll my eyes when the tough emergency response team doesn't seem to know what lava is, LOL. Didn't they go to elementary school science class?? Must have skipped that day.

This shot will change as it updates, but for the moment you can see the mudslides caused by the melting snow and glaciers down near the bottom of the frame...

Must have seen Dante's Peak every week for a year, LOL. Watch them both, but I also prefer DP to V.
