What is going on with the alaskan mt that is about to blow. Alaska people please let me know. I was following it until the computer went on the blink and I can not find the thread. Jean

don't know it said the other day that it let out a burst of steam and ash so I don't know

It's been burping steam for almost 2 months now! I have a great view of it from work. If it goes I'll let you know.

LOL! They downgraded it to yellow on 3/10... then it belched some ash (just a little) so they upped it to orange again. Then a few days later they downgraded it again, only to have a bunch of little shallow earthquakes start up... it's orange again, and they're watching 24/7. I just wish it would go up in ash and get it over with.

But Hubby's right... he's been keeping an eye on it from work. He's right across the inlet from it.

The eruption of Mt. Redoubt continues. The height of the eruption cloud is estimated to be 50,000 ft above sea level. Further reports will be issued as more information becomes available.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ANCHORAGE HAS ISSUED AN ASHFALL
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM AKDT MONDAY.

REDOUBT VOLCANO AT 60.5N 152.7W HAS ERUPTED AT AROUND 1040 PM
AKDT. VOLCANIC ASH IS FALLING AND IS EXPECTED TO REACH THE SURFACE
ACROSS THE SUSITNA VALLEY. PRELIMINARY INDICATIONS ARE THAT
ASHFALL WILL BE VERY LIGHT.
