Mucky bum

I've added some vitamin c and pro biotics to the water today. I'll cut back on the morning sweet corn and greens for a while. They won't be happy but it is for the best. I'm going to worm them all starting this weekend after they finish a couple of days on the vit c. I've also trimmed some fluff from bums. It was getting really mucky. Poor little girls. They just sat on my knee and didn't move!
Did you ever get to the bottom of this ?

MIne have been mucky like that for years. I've wormed, added probiotics, limited food to pellets and water--nothing helped, so I quit worrying about it. The only time I do something is if it is a hard lump (like my long-haired cat gets in the litter box). Yes, it clears up when they're not laying in winter and now the broody one is clean, but the rest are a mess. I watch carefully for fly-strike, but I don't know what else to do.
