Mucky bum

My girls always get messier tushies when they're laying. I think it just comes with the territory. Non layers have lovely clean fannies.:)
True story! Mine had pristine, clean little tooshies until they started laying. Now things get a bit stinky back there...sometimes I will (VERY CAREFULLY!) use manicure scissors and cut away the offending pieces if they have hardened. Baby wipes also work well. It is important to note that I am referring to just a dirty bum, and not pasty butt, which is more common in young chicks.

Should I stop the vit c and pro biotics still?
I would, chicken feed already has probiotics...
....and not sure why you would be adding Vit C.
But I'm not one for using many supplements or meds or treatments,
unless there is a very specific and provable reason for them.
If I do use them,
I use only one.at.a.time allowing plenty of time to observe any results and/or problems.
They can often create more problems than they solve.

I don't think it is Cecil. I didn't particularly smell. They have just been wormed and have not had anything else other than layers pellets.

Here in the UK, you can buy a sampling kit from Westgate labs and send a faecal sample in to them for worm egg and coccidiosis count. It is about £10 for each sample but you can combine poop from your flock, give it a good mix and send in a combined sample or from individual chickens if you have particular ones that are looking unwell. If you get the sample in the post in the morning, you usually get next day results via text or email.... whatever your preference. It is a very good service and they will usually give worming advice depending upon what they find in the sample. I have used them for my horses for years but they have just recently started offering the service for poultry too. I highly recommend them. Much better to only worm them when they need it rather than giving them chemicals when they don't.

Thankyou. I have a poultry partnership local to me. They do fecal samples. I will have to watch her and try to get a sample for them. I do worm them as a preventative aswell as treatment. All the hens look fine and I'm getting a good load of eggs at the moment. It's just these two. I don't know why they get exactly the same as all the rest.
