Mud bathing duck?

Is it normal for my duck to be mud bathing? She does it even when there's clean water right beside her. She deliberately spits water into a little hole she dug and just shoves her face into it. Khaki Campbell. Also the only duck I have that does this.

My ducks LOVE playing in the mud, and then they love to swim in fresh water and get clean.

My ducks definitely prefer muddy water over the lovely clean water. I believe it has that extra character plain water lacks, like a finely aged wine .

I have Khakis and Blue Swedish and my khakis ALL do this, and are basically pigs . Like @Quatie said, my khakis will choose mud over clean water any day.
