Muddy’s Button Hatch and General Button Chat

i was starting to get a bit concerned that no more would hatch, so i grabbed one for a quick candle and it was internal pipped and moving!!! hopefully more to come!!!
:wee:pop

The really black one is most likely a blue face. Sometimes they have a smidge of yellow under the beak or yellow wing tips.
Thanks! I have zero clue on button colors! It took me forever to start getting the hang of coturnix and koi Colors!:lau I just really want another Benjamin button 324E9FE4-D04F-46AD-BB07-74FD73A80084.jpeg

#8 hatched this evening:woot it’s been named “dumpling” .....i’m not sure if it’s the same one i candled or not but it was almost zipped and i wasn’t sure how long it was trying, so i gave it a little help at the end. going to candle again when i move dumpling to the brooder. I have no explanation as to why they are hatching so late and far apart except maybe my temp was on low side and “cool spots” in the incubator ???

ok so i couldn’t wait :th i moved dumpling to the brooder and I did one more candling.....remaining eggs all look like quitters so leaving them in one more day and then will “eggtopsy” and call the hatch. new pics to come once dumpling fluffs up a bit

Button colors seemed so simple at first glance, but once I started breeding all the color/mutation combinations I was so lost! Don't feel alone! I was always posting pics of birds asking wth I produced this time :lau

Benjamin is a red breasted. One of my favorite mutations. I have a LOT of them. Once I get NPIP, I'll be happy to get eggs to you :love
