I skip this step with other birds but the Cornish get nasty in my current run especially by 12 weeks

I soooooo need to invest in a plucker!!!!!

We invested in a Poultry Man plucker. The price tag hurt, but I have no regrets now that we've used it! It's amazing.

I guess it would keep your scalding water cleaner. I never had that problem even with my Cornish-X, I just let them roam the yard and they were OK and pretty clean. The grass was the best ever!

I only had 1/2 acre when I raised geese. You just have to confine them, there is not enough grass for them. They are a good alarm system, any strange car gets alerted with lots of honking!

But I already have like 60+ quail, 1 dux, 6 pheasant, and 4 bb Turks in my aviary it’s down to about 400 sq ft since I added the sub aviary for the budgies, guinea pigs, etc.

Before long (again delayed) we have to clean up the Cornish run…..rework the netting and get the bbs moved over

It amazes me when people say "I'm bored". Like you said, there's always plenty of work to do, especially if you have animals.

All of mine are confined to a 100ish square foot run that they share with rabbits when growing out on the ground. No free ranging here mainly due to the pheasants

It amazes me when people say "I'm bored". Like you said, there's always plenty of work to do, especially if you have animals.

We turn and freshen up all the aviary and run either in between batches or once per quarter whichever comes first. We are a bit overdue as last was a spring cleaning and we have been putting off the rabbit waste box for like over a year!
