I like my little guys! Great fryers.I always did a 25 chick order. Most got processed as fryers but I always kept a few to make 10 lb. roasters from.
I think my extra cockerels from my legbar project are tastier.

I make soup out of mine.I like my little guys! Great fryers.
I brown them and then cook in the pressure cooker. They taste great that way, and are pretty quick.I make soup out of mine.
i sooo want a real farm out in the country somewhere but getting soooo hard to find anything affordable within an hour of possible employment and since i’m gonna have to work until way past social security age to pay off student loans, that’s a problem!!!I always did a 25 chick order. There are other states to live in. I saw a craigslist ad for 30 acres with a mile of highway frontage west of the airport for $100,000 this morning. Of course it is bare land.i sooo want a real farm out in the country somewhere but getting soooo hard to find anything affordable within an hour of possible employment and since i’m gonna have to work until way past social security age to pay off student loans, that’s a problem!!!![]()

that’s awesome!! and here i was happy with my 2# extra cockbirds!I checked off 'other'. Mongolian x Chinese Ringnecked. Yeah, takes longer than other meat birds to obtain their mature weight but I don't mind spending a little more on feed for a fantastic tasting 7 to 8lbs. bird.
They do mature a little faster than a common ringnecked and are a pound to 2 pounds more meat.
Yeah, my reg ringnecked birds weight around 4.5 to 5lbs. which is a decent size bird but they lack the same flavor of that the cross.that’s awesome!! and here i was happy with my 2# extra cockbirds!![]()
