Muddy Run

Hi. I am trying to figure out the best solution for my the mud in my pen. I know people suggest sand but it doesn't seem to be working for me. Has anyone ever used pea gravel in the run?

More info, please. How many birds? Size of run? How tall is the run? What kind of weather or drainage issues are contributing to the mud? Is the rest of your yard muddy?

Without having any other information, my first suggestion is to create adequate drainage, ensure that the run is not in a low spot. And then convert the run to a deep litter management style. If drainage is an issue, you MUST fix that first.
