Mule duck breeding plan!

I think so, too. I guess she has not been reared under the best conditions.
Shes in good hands now.

This IS a fun thread! I have a young (6wk) pair of WH and thought I may end up having to get a couple more hens once breeding season hits. I can keep them separated for the majority of the time, but my neighbor has a beautiful Rouen cross male, 1 Muscovy female, a Pekin that's a couple weeks older than mine and a Rouen and mallard that are only a week older. I'd LIKE to get a couple of the Rouen/scovey ducklings, just to take some of the pressure off my WH female! I'm under the impression the crosses will be infertile before is even get them, so no need to worry about incubation? Maybe they'd even help hatch a few WH eggs since my WH female is a bit uppity already. Who knows if she'll end up broody.

With all the names of scovey crosses I've seen, not even sure what they'd be called!

I had a Peking female with my scovy flock, but I pulled her out. Between a hard molt and breeding she needed a break, she hanging with the juvenile now.

So I have a Muscovy breeding trio . I added to the flock 1 pekin (female)and 3 Metzer hybrid 300's (for eggs). They're still young yet.
I'm raising the Muscovy and pekin cross as meat birds. I'm assuming those females will be bigger than the Muscovy females. Is that correct?
The muscovies aren't a greasy bird, but how are the crosses?
Thanks in advance

Hi all,
So I have a muscovy male and an up and coming pekin female.
I've read that fertility can be low with mule duck crossing.
Any experiences with that?
When she's mature , I can pen them in a smaller run at night . But my drake does seem quick on his feet with his breeding girls.
Just want to know why I'm up for. Thank you
