Those are the packets of carrots and potatoes, you are supposed to add them in the gravy at the end. It's supposed to keep them from over cooking.

Oh...ok.
I thought you were putting them in the pot wrapped in foil.
I've never seen something done like that before so I was confused.

Yes I did add them to the pot, that's the way the recipe told me to do it. They cook with the roast, but I guess the packets keep them from getting over cookedThen you mix them in at the end.

As this is a chicken site, and I can only have a small amount of chickens, I found this recipe to cook my older hens so I can get more layers.

I sure will, I am new to all this so don't know how this is supposed to be done. Just went with it lol.

I'm so sad, I just went back to look at the recipe to see if I needed a timed release or a quick one and realized I forgot the mushrooms
That's like the best part.

So after 1 hour cooking and waiting the 15 min slow release, I checked it, The potatoes and carrots are perfect but the roast was still tough. So it's back in again for another 15 min or so, but on a plus note I added my mushrooms LOL

While after an almost 2 hr cooking time for the roast, it turned out amazing! I'm really going to have to figure out the timing.
