Multiple chickens can't walk within days

I didn't know I had Marek's in my flock. When those 10 chicks died, that's when I realized I had it. To save your chicks from Marek's, you need to buy an incubator (a cheap one is fine), wash them and put them in. Even if you take them out after birth, they will have already been contaminated.

However, if your eggs are from your flock, and your hen is from your flock, those chicks will have resistance to Marek's. So far, I had not lost any that way, seems the exposed moms pass on the resistance to the chicks. You say the eggs are from your own hens. It might be okay, I hope it goes well!!!

Yes, most of the eggs are from my hens but my friend brought some of his eggs over too. I will tell him he needs to get an incubator and come get his eggs before they hatch.

What are you feeding your chicks???? Just a thought but someof what you describe is also simptoms of a lack of Riboflavin? Vitamin difficiency. This is easily sorted with infant vitamin drops containing Riboflavin and Vit B1 but NO Iron. I had issues with one of my chicks and this was the reason. Though as folk have also said it is good to treat for Marek's too. Best of luck with the flock. Do make sure your chicks don;t come into contact with your other birds. IF it is Marek's your other birds would show signs of it too.

No more birds have died from it. I think I know who brought it in. I brought back two Ameraucanas quite a few months ago. When I was picking them up the guy told me that he originally had 3 but something had got in and killed a hen but didn't eat it at all. I think it died from Mareks and he didn't know. One of the birds I got from him shows signs of being affected to some degree. She carries a wing a little lower than the other and has a funny waddling walk. One of the birds that did die always had a physical deformation and also carried a wing much lower that the other and her butt was crooked off to one side. When she started to suffer from the Mareks (if it really was Mareks) the wing she carried lower started dragging on the ground so I wonder if she could've also already been suffering from Mareks?
