mummy to be

Yolk on it's head! That's one I have never experienced myself-sure it's fine though. Was actually just about to say that it looked like it was about to hatch when.....!!!! So two down and three to go. Not sure if the egg that bled will make it. Has a fifty fifty chance honestly. IF you decide to help it any more try to break the shell to the side that way it is unzipping and it is easier for it to break. Might just need some rest though in order to get it's strength back. Let egg 4 and 5 be a while longer as well. And it is sooo easy to make monsters out of them. Should be a little happier now that it has a friend but remember you are there mother. So spoil away but do not I repeat do not let them sleep with you!!!

Haha is that the voice of experience I hear!? I did let that thought cross my mind earlier! Il try and put a vid on YouTube and post the link it's of duck 2 wriggling out but at the end I move over to no3. See what you think. Bare with me.

Actually I have never done that one myself. Wanted to but resisted the urge. I have played with them before bed though and THAT is another recipe for disaster! And of course I'll bare with you!

and this is one and two.

Aww, always so adorable to watch! Hard to resist encouraging them isn't it! Looks like you will have quite the color assortment!

As for the third egg I almost always have one that looks like that-the first hatch I helped it completely out of the shell and it died. The rest of the hatches I only help it a little, making sure it stays wet and encouraging it. They do not always live but that is because they are a little to weak. Most of the time though they just take longer to hatch out.

Oh wow! They are cute! Funny how much bigger they look after they have dried off. Do you have a brooder light on them? I'm sure you do I just couldn't tell.

Yeh I do its a black ceramic bulb as I didn't want to hurt their eyes with a light on constantly. It was bad enough in the bator with the light going on and off all the time!

I know the yellow one looks huge! Bless it was helping the new one get yolk and stuff off of it.

Yeh I did try to help the other one again but it just started bleeding again. The top bit is dry but the bit it's lying on isn't. Hope it makes it. Hope the others get a toddle on then I can relax abit.

Earlier the yellow one was trying to eat everything it met, you think it's hungry? I know they can go for 24 hours or more but it may have absorbed longer ago than that. What do you think?

I usually feed mine a few hours after the hatch-mostly to give them something to do. Water is a must when you feed them-make sure they know where that is first and never feed them without water. The mouth things up though regardless of if they have food, just another cute thing they do!

Yeh they've got water, but I'm not sure they know what to do. I dipped the yellow ones bill in the water and it drank and was like ohh nice but wouldnt do it on its own. The new one has just been sleeping since it's been out.
I put some water on my finger for no.3 and it lapped it up.
