mummy to be

No problem! Ducks are strange that way, mud is their favorite! And I think your eggs will be fine! Good Luck with your hatch!

HELP! The light on my bator went off and temp dropped to 25 eggs are cold to touch. I'm on day 20. Not sure how long it had been off. I had them on a warm hot water bottle with my hands over them trying to warm them while bator got back up to heat. It had now so back in but eggs are still cool. Helllppp.what can I do? Is it too late? Anyoneeeee ...these babies can't die my, one of my cats died recently. :(

Drat I am really sorry!! If they are back in now and the incubator is warm again then there is really nothing we can do except wait and see if there alright. They might still be fine-I had a broody hen that abandoned her eggs over night and it froze and the eggs still hatched. After they have warmed back up for a few hours you can candle them to see what happened.

I am sorry this happened.

Wow they still hatched after it froze out! Gives me hope! The metzer site said they can survive up to 48hours if they are delevoped enough. So fingers crossed! I told you I'd be back to pester you! :-D

LOL! Your not pestering me! I am quite excited to hear how it all works out! I hope for the best for you and your future ducks!

Aw thanks me too!The adults we got a couple of weeks ago are settling in. Shame they are still not very tame. The white one's jemima - very unoriginal, Cayuga male is randy for obvious reasons, and daughter still has no name apart from "victim 1" due to the male! Gross! The house they came with was in such a disgusting condition and there were about 12 sharp screw ends poking up through the floor, some people shouldn't have animals :(.
So what animals do you have?

LOL- Victim 1! Glad to hear they are well and I agree- Some people just don't have what it takes! This summer I am off to school to become an Animal Control Officer/Wildlife Control! Can't Wait!

As for what animals do I have...I'll post the whole list but be prepared to read!!

I have a flock of about fourteen ducks- mostly females, but still a bit to many males! They were supposed to be Indian Runners but I don't think the lady we bought them from really knew. They look more like a runner-swedish-cayuga mix! Not a ton of eggs but I love them! They don't all have names, just my favorites One named Lo-Anna, one named Rio, one named Ki and I have dubbed the main drake Greedy. I really should name the rest of them!

We have a ton of chickens. Mostly Bantams and Cochins but a few Silkies and Easter Eggers.

We have even more rabbits than we do chickens! LOL! When people say multiply like rabbits...They mean it. I am expecting bunnies today! I actually just sold a bunch so numbers are not as high as they were!

My dad and sister have a few white dove and some quail. LOVE the quail! They are what Raptors evolved into!!

We have three dogs- The oldest is around ten and she is our family nanny dog, A rhodesian ridgeback mix. My mom's little dog is a terrier mix and my dog is a Carolina Black Dog. Sweet but incredibly Stupid!

We have a family cat and I own a guinea pig. I might but Ancona ducklings this spring when I reduce my flock and I REALLY want goats. Whew! Any more and I'll be typing all day! What about you , do you have other animals?

Holy moley! Do you actually live on a farm or just have a huge house and grounds!?
I don't have anything compared to that!! So I've got the 5 runner eggs which hopefully are still with us, the 3 stinky rampant adult ducks and just one lovely black cat called Ozzy. He's my little protector! He growls at the postman and rolls around at your feet, escorts you to the bathroom and then tucks you in at night! Bless him, proper gentleman! Sadly his sister died mysteriously about a month ago, they were inseperable (sp?). He's really lonely but is enjoying figuring out the ducks, I think he's sad they won't play with him! He'll be in his element when the duckies hopefully hatch - possibly for the wrong reasons!
I love ridgebacks they are beautiful dogs. Our family dogs growing up were always German shepherds but now dad's moved onto leonbergers. Don't know if you know them? He's got a 4 month old pup at the mo called chewie (chewbacca as he looks like him). He's a pain in the bum!
I havent heard of a black Carolina dog I shall Google it! Your ducks sound like quite a mix! That must be alot of poop! I'm new to keeping ducks and was abut shocked at the constant supply!
I love chickens, am tempted to add some in with our ducks but think I should wait to see how many ducks hatch first as our garden is already looking urgh!
I love bunnies too, would live a giant rabbit of some kind. They're so soft! Rabbits eat the babies don't they if you touch them? Good luck with your baby bunnies! How long do they take to be born - really wanted to say hatch!
So funny you want goats, they freak me out! So do sheep, I think it's the boney faces with the piercing eyes! I like the milk and cheese though!
Quail seem to be quite a big thing at the moment, they're so small though, aren't they abit pointless!? Raptors evolved into them!? Eh!?
