Murderous Rooster?? (pics included. A little graphic)

We won't tolerate any aggression towards people or anything like this. They'll find themselves in the freezer very quickly. If we wind up only having 1 rooster or no roosters, we can live with that. I have seen what they can do to hens and I'd rather not put my girls through that lol.

Right now we have two silkie roosters with two standards and an OEG bantam rooster. We raised the little guy with the standard rooster and they don't get along, and the silkies don't get along with either the little guy or the big guys, but they get along with one another. Right now we have one too many roosters and need to get rid of one of our standards, but otherwise four is enough to keep our 40 or so hens bred so they can lay fertile eggs.

Sebbie, raised with Dominator in our original flock starting group, he didn't get along with me or Dominator and we got rid of him

Smaug gets along with Dominator fairly well but doesn't get along with any of the other roos

Acorn can chase Smaug but the other roosters are above him

Dominator, no body messes with him

The white silkie is Flo, who is just under Smaug in position. The blue silkie is Azul, and Flo and him get along, even though they only have a few hens amongst the two of them

I'm torn between which of our EE to keep. All 3 of really gorgeous birds. I'll have to get pics of them Monday

. I'd love to find a couple more hens since we wound up with so many roosters this year. We've gotten rid of 2 roos, 4 pekin drapes and our 2 cornish x were roosters.

There is never a reason to keep a bad roo. So many good, quality roosters are looking for homes to save their lives. Once you have 20 posts you can participate in the buy, sell, trade forum on BYC. You will find many roosters - show or breeding quality at very reasonable prices, sometimes even free.

One rooster can handle 10 hens any less and he can end up overbreeding them to the point of damage or death. If you don't need fertile eggs to hatch, or to sell, you don't need any rooster. The hens will be happier without the harassment and will continue to lay just as many eggs.

Pretty is only skin deep, nasty can go on forever in their offspring, etc.
