Murray McMurray - Extra 1 Rare Chick always a Rooster?

I ordered from them 2 yrs ago and got a EE pullet. I ordered all pullets and only got pullets

I ordered 25 chicks from MM and was sent 27. I did order the free mystery chick, which is a Silver Spangled Hamburg rooster. They told me that they always include an extra chick of one of the varieties that was ordered, in my case an extra EE pullet, which they marked to distinguish it from the BO as it was also pure yellow when I got it. I was told that they just take a box of straight run chicks and put one in each order and that the odds are equal for pullet or roo. Who knows what goes on for sure

that's not true cuz i got a golden laced sebright pullet as my extra chick and i didn't order any of those.

I think what Hellebore meant is that in addition to the extra free rare chick, they ALSO send an extra of whatever you ordered just in case.

I just received extras from MM on my last order and no extra rare chick.

Received an extra White Crested Black Polish, Golden Laced Cochin, Silver Sebright and Cornish X Roaster.

My last order was for 38 various pullets. I recieved at least (as far as I can tell now) ELEVEN extra males "for warmth". The invoice says red star males but they are feathering out to look like white wyandottes. It sures seems like to me that I am only getting males as extras.

There are free exotic chicks (1 per order, by request, straight run), extra chicks put in for warmth (always roos) if you don't order the minimum of 25, and an extra chick of one of the breeds that was ordered (I believe what you ordered as far as gender).

These are 3 different things and this information is from someone whom I spoke with at MM.

Well that is what they told me too, but I ordered the 25 Rainbow Layer Mix with the free rare chick and got 23 live chicks and two dead chicks. A third second one died within 48 hours. They gave me credit for them, but what I wanted was the rare chick, and I actually wanted a rooster...
