@feather13 has ordered some hens from Murray McMurray Hatchery, and she had very good luck with them.

As far as me, I got my Cayugas from a local breeder. The breeder was very experienced and perfected his breeding.

We don't have ducks, unfortunately , but are very happy with our McMurray chickens. Good luck, @FernbergFarms, with your duckling order! Please post photos.

Yep its al Metzer when it comes to waterfowl most of the haturys have metzer drop ship then they dropship there land birds for them. Kinda sad ordered birds from McMurray to get unrelated birds and here they are coming from California! McMurray commented that even though they were coming from the same farm they wouldn't be related.

Hello poultry lovers! I have been ordering from Murray McMurray since about 1976. I also have ordered from a couple others and bought locally started chicks. I have always been satisfied with the quality of my Chick orders from Murray Mcmurray. I have had a couple times with MM and another respected nursery, that the post office mishandled the chicks and I had excessive losses, upon and shortly after arrival. That is always a risk with Mail delivered birds! One time , I had almost 50% losses initially and over the first few days, when the local post office lost them for a day and did not call me, til the next day. I discovered an employee left them outside on the dock all night because they stank! Anyway, Murray Mcmurray has been as accurate, or more so, than any others at sexing babies and has always given me credits for losses or for more than 10% error in sexing. I have had at least a dozen breeds from MM and all have been very good. I had one chick out of hundreds over many years have a birth defect when delivered. A missing eye and a twisted beak. Not too bad for 8 orders of more than a couple hundred chicks from them. All the nurseries use humans to pick the orders, so Accidents happen, sometimes, with any company. Typically ,I have raised about 90 % of the chicks to maturity, barring some unrelated misfortune. No nursery can prevent bad characters working for the post office or stupidity of some who just don't think!

Dont get me wrong Iv heard that Murray McMurray is a favorite of many folks for Chickens land birds ect. But they team up with other hatchery's for water birds. Most of the Waterfowl come from Metzers in California. They have good birds also but the problem is if all the waterfowl come from Metzers how do we not interbreed our little babys when they go broody. So sorry if you got me wrong I just want to kow if Im ordering from a hatchery that's were there coming from.
