I have yet to receive a call for my order this week, though one if the breeds i ordered is a suspected breed that was in that barn. I guess I'll just find out in a few days if it is in my box or not

Keep us posted please!! I went up to Hoover (had to pick them up at TSC because no one is allowed at hatchery) and got mine 3 weeks ago.

We got an email today. Our Speckled Sussex, White Orpington, & Cuckoo Marans were in the affected group.
4 choices:
-Get a phone call or chat to make changes with a representative
-Push your order out to 2023 with the same breeds ordered
-Cancel order and get store credit
-Cancel order and get a refund

Due to chicken math, if you change your order, they won't count. At all. *nudge*

Our first chicks were scheduled to ship April 18. My kids are so excited. Got the email that 3 of our 7 chicks are no longer available because of this. (Salmon Favorelle, Dominique, Speckled Sussex) The only thing left available for our ship date is meat birds. If I switch ship dates to late May, most of the breeds we do still have in our order are not available.

Their Sussex, Faverolle, and Dominique are lines that had to be culled. So so sad. I do not fault McMurray at all. This Avian Influenza is a nightmare. You can postpone your order to next year, or wait a week and see if others from your cancel and possibly pick up a few chicks that open from that canceled order.

I'm so sad about the salmon favorelles too. I was looking forward to that fluffy face! I ended up switching our order to a different hatchery that has all the breeds we wanted - except the favorelle . I feel bad doing that, as it's not McMurray's fault, but my kids have been counting down the days until we get chicks (was less than 2 wks away), I couldn't make them wait months longer.
