Muscle contractions causing extreme, paralizing pain?

be carefull not to take suplements of potassium though its actually a dangerous thing, foods arnt bad you would have to eat a whole LOT of bannanas to get to much but one tablet a day could be to much . Thats why I sugestted the blood test first .. LOTs of water sounds like a good iedea to.

Too much water, though and you can flush out the minerals you need to keep those cramps away. If you are thirsty, drink water instead of juice or soda, but don't try to force extra fluids.

Eat a bunch of bananas and drink some gatorade and call me in the morning.

For me bananas cause these. I have to reach down and grab my toes to get it to stop. It still hurts for a few days. Magnessium really helps me with them and my TMJ.

Good luck

Have you been taking any vitamins? Low on B-12 complex maybe?

I get numbness, aching, and burning in my thighs to my feet but that's sciatica (inflammation of the nerves in the base of my spine).

The problem is, all the crud in our intestines that we naturally build up with a "western" diet tends to severely inhibit our absorption of the nutrients to begin with...so even getting 1600% of the recommended amount usually won't harm a flea because the body flushes it or it gets ionized by other free-radicals in the body.

I had a similar problem with my legs and feet. They would cramp so badly at night that I sometimes had to have my DH straighten out my feet as they would cramp sideways. I was afraid I had Fibromyalia. My feet hurt from the heels forward into the arch so badly I stopped going places. It was agony to go down to the maibox. Driving in the truck was very painful. A relative of mine sent me an email about thyroid medications. I had been taking levothyroid for about a year. (about the same length of time as my symptoms) I read aabout all the side effects this generic drug has. I had all of them. Weight gain ,headaches, stiff neck, painfull muscles and muscle spasmism. I never thought about it being my medication. I went to the doctor and show fher the print out of these side effects. She knew I had been complaining about this for quite awhile. I told her that I wanted off this meidcation immediately. She put me on another name brand medication. I started taking it the next morning. Within two days most of the symptoms had disappeared. DH and I had gone into town a few days later and when we were getting out of the truck I said to him You won't believe it but I can walk without pain. My doctor still doesn't believe that the generic pill caused all this but I have not had any more problems since changing this medication. Get to your doctor and check it out. All you have to lose is your pain.

agree with the others - sounds like a loss of salts and potassium. Drink, get rehydrated and see how you feel. If it keeps happening, go to the doctor - get your thyroid checked first and foremost - then go from there
