Thanks for the excellent Muscovy pics. I'm planning to hatch some white ones this spring. When I heard that muscovy was Spanish for mosquito because of their eating habits, I was instantly sold. I know your Christmas was blessed- I hope it was also merry. As for the rest of it---be careful what you wish for. lol

Those photos are excellent! I have a pair of Scovies, but my duck doesnt lay. They really are awesome ducks, I cant imagine not having a few. Yours are beautiful.

They're the Magpie (or Duclair) pattern I've been looking for
and quite hard to find!
Will you have any hatching eggs or ducklings for sale in 2009?

A little OT but in defense of the title of this thread..."Muscovies are an Aquired Taste"...
Ever notice how people never feel the need to defend the way their turkeys look?
Whew!
Now there's truly a face only a mother could love!
As for Muscovies...I love their rather prehistoric look
and once you have them their many attributes far outweight their unique look.

If anyone really wants ducklings or eggs, I can only say I'm open to it re. shipping. But it may be pricey, as I will have to factor in add'l. costs, like box prices, shipping fees.

Also, scovy ducklings do not handle shipping very well, etc. and eggs are harder to hatch than other ducks in a bator.

You might look around locally first. It would be cheaper for sure.

I would NOT ship day old ducklings--only weeks-old, so they can have a better chance of a successful trip to your place.

The other difficulty will be working out payment plans, etc. I will not be doing any trading, as I have scovy people near me I could contact much more easily.

Again, I am open, BUT CAN MAKE NO PROMISES.

If anyone wants to contact me again in a few months, I can let you know if there will be a chance of selling and shipping ducklings
