i was told and read that they will not inforce anything ,that they do not have the money or man power to do so. The only birds that need to worry are on public areas. They want them removed ASAP . As soon as they are removed things should quiet down.
id get a permit for them is they became gamebirds but getting rid of them completly doesnt PETA or the duck association or whatever have something to say about it!?

If they enforce it or not isn't the issue for me, the question i'm trying to get answered is does the regulation as it is written take effect March 31st? I don't know about anybody else on BYC but I for one don't plan to be in violation of federal law. If anybody has something in writting from the FWS service please post or PM me.

The people from the permit office in Atlanta will not tell you which permit you need to get, all they say is "they are tweeking the regulation" and to wait we will let you know. Once again my concern is the regulation as written takes effect next Wednesday. Maybe I am overly paranoid but the whole federal law thing makes me just a little nervous.

I do understand , believe me. But we have no choice but to wait unsettling as that is. Were all in the same boat to mod. LOL yes wed better stop dumping ducks and its already a law not to feed them. I think we will see some changes thow because this scare. I have never seen muscovy sold as easter ducklings , And I have never gotten muscovy in any duckling asst. If your in an area that does lucky you. several suppliers have stopped selling . And they are harder to get. in NM know one even knows what the muscovy is.
As for me I see a change I will ask a lot more questions when i sell and that wont be for a few years as i have my own breeding program.I do believe muscovy make great pets , but il be more wary. like driving ,I have to worry more how others will preform . My own stock cant fly and are too lazy to walk or run they set on my path and i step over them , or fall over em LOL they just wag their tails as i mutter im going to break my fool neck LOL
I have found 3 large hatcheries that will sell , what id call cheap muscovies, meyer, ridgeway, hoffman. in great numbers. And the list for private breeders with good stock needs to be badly updated there are alot listed but once you get them they are no longer selling or no longer have them. Strombergs has them in limited supply and they are good birds not production I know who supplies their stock. Any one know any other let me know Im making a list ....
ripples are harder than hens teeth to get rare colors as well white ,splash , black common blue chocolate semi.
Maybe this will unite us breeders I know the muscovy club sank id love to see one again we need to agree on things and issues. Like color naming Ive seen so much aka it drices me nuts.
