It looks like the final count is 6. The other eggs are still in the nest and I will probably leave them there until tomorrow. I doubt they will hatch but I've seen it happen before and it gives me an excuse to leave the nest alone until our female has all the other babies out and about.
It looks to me like we have 4, possibly 5, color variances. I'll have MysticalMom post picks in a day or 2 so you people with all the genetic knowledge can tell us what you think. I grew up raising ducks and chickens but it was all about meat and eggs. We never worried about the genetics beyond a few basics and most of my knowledge on the subject comes from breeding snakes. Although, because of the snakes, I do have a good grasp of how genetics work, I've already figured out that the specifics can be quite different.
