I just recently purchased some adult Muscovy, and I would like to hatch some chicks. Do I just leave the eggs where mom is laying them or should I bring them inside? I usually incubate chicken eggs, but I’m hoping that mom will do the job. Also, how do I know that mom will want to sit on the eggs? I’m new to Muscovies so any help would be appreciated.

Give her some dummey eggs, and wait. I heard muskovies are really broody, but I don’t have experience with them.

Hi there, i am no expert as i just recently got some ducks...1 male miscovy, 2 female muscocy’s and and male and femal rouen. Our one muscovy sat for almost the entire time but i think she got confused when the rouen’s hatched and left the nest. As soon as i saw her out for more then a couple hours i knew she had left the nest and we put the eggs in an incubator. So you could watch her and see if she leaves the nest and take the eggs if she does. When she was sitting she would only come out for about 15 mins a day so as soon as i saw her out for longer i took the eggs. We already had the incubator set up though and stabilized because our other female had passes away and had 6 eggs laid so we were incubating those.
Her eggs just hathed yesterday. 4 so far and one that still hasn’t hatched but seems like a healthy egg as we candled it.
Good luck. Muscovy’s are the best
