The person that wrote the new regulation promised that it would be modified to exempt backyard flocks and exhibition muscovies from the ban.

Read about it here. There's an explanation in the first post on why the new regulation was passed for people that don't understand the purpose of it.

A few dedicated people from BYC and other forums/groups worked hard to resolve this by working within the system and remaining calm and polite when communicating with the FWS.

I think the sales of muscovys will be hard to come by after March 31st.. But I bet the sales of their eggs will continue, but quietly.. I mean. How would they know what kind of duck eggs were being sent through the mail. Its not like they are marked with the word Muscovy.. I bet people will just say.. Could I get some eggs of your special meat duck for hatching..

Really? I don't...because first off, the ban is not going to fly. Second, 99.99% of Muscovy owners out there are never even going to hear about it. The fear-mongering here on BYC is a h00t, though.

We really appreciate everything everyone has done. I've been very impressed with all of you, I knew this was a great group but all of you have gone above and beyond! Thank you!

Most people don't know about it. I was talking to a Muscovy breeder at the auction last weekend and she had no idea. She has been breeding for a LONG time & nearly makes her living off of her birds. She was pretty awe-struck about the whole thing.

#1 What are you in for? Murder
#2 What are you in for? Robbery
#3 What are you in for? I have a duck.
