Muscovy drake hissing and bobbing head

I got my Muscovy drake when he was only a couple weeks old and he is now about a year old and for the last few months he has started making a hissing sound at me and bobbing his head up and down and kinda of front to back.

We do have ducklings now but he started this before. He hasn’t tried to bite me and if I walk toward him he simply walks away but sometimes I can pet him.

Does anyone know if this behavior is aggressive or something else?

That's the way adult 'scovy drakes greet their fellows, so it's all natural and good. He sees you as part of his flock.
If he was aggressive, he would charge you, flapping his wings around. Never had a "bad" drake myself. They're all nice and friendly. I had one that was alone with no females, and he climbed onto my head and tried to mate me. Awkward...

Muscovy drakes hiss and bob their head. Muscovy hens chirp. I have heard a goose like honk too - but, I think they are scared when that happens. Mine is 13 weeks and does this. I am suprised that you, @Breemae123, have not seen this before now.

Yeah, he didn’t always do this or maybe he is just a lot more dramatic with it now, lol. This is the first time I’ve ever had ducks of any kind.
