Muscovy drake unable to stand

Some small improvement! Yesterday he was able to scoot away from me using his feet! I had to herd him a few minute before I could get my hands on him! So he is regaining strength but still not able to stand. He is still eating and drinking his medicated water with gusto. He doesn't much care for the couple of mils of nutri-drench I give him orally but he swallows it without much stink-eye. He enjoys his dips in the tub, splashing and flapping and preening. And he moves himself around his pen at night so he is getting some "exercise". I have hope that if his attitude and appetite stay good we may have enough recovery to return him to the flock.

It took my boys a little while but they slowly regained their strength. You'll probably notice when he starts to walk again that he has to stop and take breaks for a second. It's not far from my bathroom to where my boys tub was in the bedroom but he'd have to break about twice before h made it. of course i had to help him over the tub edge though

(was one of those really short, long storage ones)

Oh, Puppy Training pads were a LIFE SAVER when my boy was going through this. for the water and the poo. I tried towels but was doing way too much laundry so he just got one little one to sleep on, lol.

He's still outside in his "isolation" paddock. He's comfortable out there and can still hang with his girls. I saw the girls all snuggled up against his fence last night and they were reaching through the fence to groom him. I do keep moving him to fresh deep grass so he isn't sitting on the hard dirt or feces. So far so good! He's not developing any pressure sores and giving him a dip in his tub every day is keeping him clean.
