I just bought a dozen muscovy hatching eggs from BYC member TennesseeTruly. She gave me some great advice on how to hatch these guys in regards to temperature and humidity. From what I've read they aren't easy. Yeah me! LOL

Ah well. Anyway, do they do better in a turner or being turned by hand? Any other advice? I've never tried to hatch duck eggs before. I've wanted muscovy ducks forever and only now talked hubby into letting me try to hatch some. I sooooo want at least some of these to hatch.

They are a 35 day hatch cycle... so be prepared to wait... and in my experience, ducks plain old take longer hatching than chickens do, from pip to hatch. I don't think a single duck I had took less than 48 hours to get out of the egg.

I also spritzed mine daily with water when I turned. Ups the general humidity and well, when ducks sit on their eggs they are wet... it's good

I always hand turn mine but its a personal choice. You'll get as many different answers as you do people who answer. LOL

I like the feeling of hand turning the eggs myself. You need to come on over to the duck section. Lots of duck lovers over there. Especially Muscovy lovers!
