Hi everyone!

I am new to this forum, and start directly with a question: Are there egg laying strains of muscovy ducks?
Or, to put it differently, to the muscovies owners, how many eggs do they lay a year?

I worked on a farm where they just got some, and I like them better than chicken. So I started reading about the laying of the muscovies, and read everything between 20 and 220 eggs a year. What do yours lay? Do they lay in winter?

Mine lay clutches of 12-20 than go broody a couple times of year. They do not lay during winter. I don't find them productive. I think there are some mallard based breeds that are bred more for eggs, but I don't which breeds unfortunately.

Thanks for your reply oldhenslikesdogs. Can you guesstimate how many times they brood, and give an average in the poll? Even if it is not precise, you can also click on two categories if you are inbetween.

I changed the poll by adding a few more categories, as already 3 votes were on more than 240 eggs a year. The ones filling in the poll can remove their poll at more than 240 and move it to the corresponding category.
