Hi
In my last hatch I had some duckling patterns and colors that were new to me. I had a question about this one.
It looks to be a mix of wild type and dusky. The face has the eye stripe and you can see the darker v shape on the forehead like a wild type but the face is much darker than a normal wild type. The body is typical dusky lacking spots and showing pied wing and tail tips. It also looks like it might have carried the white head gene because of the yellow near the eye. All of my other ducklings that have been dusky have always had a solid face. Is this a common pattern? Genetically how would this come about? Is it the result of being 75% dusky and 25% wild. Split to wild? Thank you for any help. I'm very excited about learning everything I can.
