Hi everyone, this is my first day. I love ducks and have bred quite a few different breeds over the years. At the moment I have three lovely, spoilt muscovy girls, Ooby Dooby, Angie and Roxanne, but i have a large family of wild ducks who have made my yard their home, We have the Grey Teal or Maned geese, and the Pacific Black ducks. They are very trusting and friendly and each year they bring me their babies who grow up and do the same. This time of year we feed about thirty ducks twice a day because of the drought and the bushfires, there isn't much feed around, and there's about the same number of Galahs and native Bronze Wing Pigeons and Rosellas, plus numbers of magpies, and lorikeets. Breakfast time in particular gets very loud, but I love it. They have all become family and get along fine with the muscovy girls. Over the years I have bred Crested, Kayuga, Buff Orpingtons, Silver Appleyard, Swedish Blue, plus the usual Khaki and Muscovy. but I have no drakes at the moment because even though the girls keep going broody, I don't want Muscovy ducklings, especially boys.
