I agree about the humidity thing with the Muscovy ducks. We have been raising this breed of duck for several years. We have 5 ducks and one drake. That is a whole whack of ducklings in each year. The hatch rate is mostly all 100%. Now and then one egg out of 14 may not hatch (I don't put more than 14 EVER anymore, I did once and the hatch went down to 50%, with that hatch I had placed 17 eggs under the duck, not good). The ducks get off the nest at least once a day, maybe more, to take a good long bath. This makes for a very warm and humid environment inside the brooding box. Ducks need high humidity for proper hatching of eggs. A chicken plain and simply does not provide that humidity that the duck eggs require. Chickens don't like to get wet, we all know that. Hopefully you will have some ducks to hatch the next clutch of Muscovy eggs. Put your hand beneath the belly of a duck sitting on eggs, you will feel the moisture very easily.

I think we will, unless all 5 of these end up as drakes
We will most definitely be trying again next year. These guys are way too cute and much sweeter than any chicks we have ever had. I think we are being assimilated by a new collective - resisting... resisting... RESISTANCE IS FUTILE
