Need Muscovy egg experts took pics of them today. sorry not the greatest pics it is hard to do it with one hand. If you find a good pic can you tell me about how old they are. They all look to be the same age inside them. I got 7 eggs their mom got killed been incubating them since June 13th. They kept moving around inside it on me as I was trying to take their picture. lol. At least it gives me a better idea of how far along they are. I'm no expert Just trying to save their life.
noticed yesterday one egg had crack in it, but nothing leaking out of it I put wax on the cracks & baby is fine inside it.

I gauge my rescued eggs by air cell. Since I have both Muscovy and Quackers in the same coop, it can sometimes be difficult to predict when they'll hatch. Once the egg is mostly opaque and the cell has grown and dropped, I put them in lockdown.
great news the one that had crack in shell that I fixed it just hatched around 7pm tonight. I didn't have to assist it looks like it's a fighter see how it goes & I got 1 egg still in incubator see if it hatches soon or not. I kept that one for just incase its shell was a bit smaller than the rest I think it might be the runt.
as for the other 5 eggs I gave them to mama oreo she outside by my flower bed she got her own eggs & plus I snuck in 5 eggs which they will hatch before her's will which they did looks like about maybe 3 or 4 of them just hatched today.
meet miracle the cracked egg one I gave it just a tiny drop of the save a chick electrolyte drink just to help it out when it fully came out of its shell it was still a bit weak, but now it wakes up wants to move around to different spots inside the incubator & chirps.
Then it tires it self out again goes back to sleep.
I put down a little bit more of padding inside it help it to get bit better traction & not get its feet stuck in the holes. The poor baby all tired out.
And my 2 huskies are like 2 worried mom's every time it moves they smell the incubator & stay by it's side.

how long do I keep them in incubator? and when can I give them water & food?

I leave them in until they're dry, then move them to the brooder, directly under the heating plate so they stay warm. I also place food and water out immediately, and if the baby is alone for the time being, I sprinkle the food on the floor (puppy pad in my case) for them. If I have other ones in there, particularly slightly older ones, the food remains in the dish and they learn from the older ones.

I also wet the crumbles for them. Even my adults get moistened food.

Grats on the hatch!

I felt it was the right thing to do since the ones that did hatch belonged to her sister that had died best to be with the family they will all take great care of them.
Oreo was on break this morning I put the one that I hatched yesterday from the incubator in her nest while she was gone they all snuggled up waiting on mom to get back. the one from the incubator that hatched yesterday is all dry, talking it was already being spunky wanting to go see the world. mama oreo is now back she is taking care of them.
I don't know how long yet she will stay here with them being she still got 14 of her own eggs or what her plans are. And I still got 1 in the incubator did a quick check this morning it felt like little thumps against the shell inside like its pecking inside it. still has a ways to go yet, but If oreo is still here everything is all good with it after it dries.
I give it to her. If she not here then I keep it. see how it goes. Lucky this morning & Lucky brother's & sisters.
