Muscovy incubators support group.

I am doing hand turning & although not purposely cooling them i have to adjust the incubator back up a couple times a day, lol. I have to find my small spray bottle so I can start misting them when i turn them.

Out of Zima's eggs I have 2 live babies. 1 Chocolate & 1 White (SO CUTE!), hes SO yellow! The little white one is still wobbly with the sofy yolk belly so shes still in the incubator for now.

For some terrible reason, I lost about 5 of Zima's eggs. They fully developed and got into their air sacs but never pipped. sadly by the time i got to all of them they were already gone

. the bizarre thing is that they were all Pieds. That really threw me, This is my first time hatching white or Very pied babies.

They had the prettiest coloring too, like little racing stripes and 1 splotchy one

Mom2emAll, are you still hand turning? Only a few more days 'till lockdown. If it doesn't work out for us we can beg ducklings off of ZephyrCreek along with some BLRW and...

One hatched, it's day 30! Poor thing was still in the turner, I quick took her and the other eggs out, no other pips... Do I go into lockdown or hand turn for another day or two? can it even be a 'scovie? It's really cute, chocolate with a dark bill... Love her all ready!

I will post a pic ASAP, DH has a fancy operating system on the computer, I'm seriously lucky I can turn the thing on! Are there distinguishing features to a Muscovy duckling?

sevenchickens - I would go into lockdown. I think it's better for them not to be turned an extra day or two than to have to reposition when they're ready to hatch.

I agree. I took out the duckling this evening and checked the other eggs, no pips, I positioned them all on their sides and they rolled heavy side down (is that normal), well one duckling wasn't so happy about that and wobbled so much I thought he was going to explode right out of the shell. I found myself checking them more and I'm sure I will continue to do so until they are all here. Can't wait to see them. I think this one may be a fawn colored. I need to post a picture so I can get the voice of experience.
