, but no it's not a tick , miss L said it was an infection
It´s not so easy to tell by a photo.
Did it suddenly appear like that, or have you seen it grow? What is it like where it´s attached to her caruncle? Did she have a wound on her face before? And what´s that mark by her eye?

I always quarantine new poultry. Lice, mites, pox, enteritis... the list of possible problems is a long one if you aren't one hundred percent sure of the care they received before you got them. It's better to be safe than have to deal with an outbreak. While in quarantine my birds get treated for internal and external parasites and get a round of antibiotics, Just In Case. Muscovy can be asymptomatic carriers of salmonella, and you won't know till you have babies dying of it.
Most of those things I don´t worry about...it´s not worth it, as the neighbours birds here come right up to the fence as they´re in the road, the fields, etc, so I just treat them accordingly, but nothing much happens...even with the chickens lice are easily treated, likewise worms, pox is here every year, enteritis I don´t see here, a couple of youngsters brought scaly leg in, so I´m having to treat my flock for that, but then the pigeons and doves (we get so many) also can bring these things in, so.....
But what you said about salmonella was interesting...I´ve never heard of salmonella killing ducklings. Rarely hear of salmonella here anyway, interestingly enough. People here simply don´t quarantine their backyard birds, there´s a different mentality here. The only places they take a lot of care are the chicken-raising factories, poor things. But they´re shoved so full of antibiotics to help them cope with the terrible conditions they live in........

yeah its the ban of the crinkle thats swollen, and i just noticed it like three or four days ago, i was like okay this is natural it will probably fall off/ deflate and it hasn't, oh and that moro by her eye its just some mud, they played in the ditch before going up for the night.

so i have no idea if it just grew or appeared like that, i mean some days i don't see my ducks because of after school activities

I would also like to know!
I've got a drake with the same thing but it's not hot or infected. It's just like a piece of caruncling all of a sudden balled up and is hanging by a thread. I've been waiting for it the fall off but it hasn't yet. And it's been dangling for a few weeks now.
I've never had this happen and I've had Muscovy for YEARS!

We drove 3 hours round trip to pick up these pretty ducks

They're supposed to be 4 drakes, 2 females. The females are black, or is it black pied? Blue? Silver? Idk, but very pretty beetle green sheen.

Now what to feed them? Not broiler, not chick starter, not layer feed? What? I thought the 26% protein gamebird feed was ok it's ff.. agh!

Looks like an infected caruncle to me. Do you have drawing slave Buck? not sure if it would work but might be worth a try. AND does it feel hot?

Dont always listen to what I say, but if its hanging my a thin piece of skin, then could you possibly just cut it off and put meds on it?
If it's anything like a roosters comb or wattle there is alot of blood in there. I'd do that as a last resort and You'd have to be ready to stop the blood some how. .
