Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Well my scovies demonstrated that they can fly today. I went out to feed everybody and their pen was empty! Torrential rain actually pulled down the tarp and chicken wire covering part of their pen last night, and they took advantage and flew right out to explore the yard! They weren't very happy about me herding them back in with the help of a long stick, but they didn't put up too much of a fight. I'll have to give them treats later to make up for it.
I love watching mine fly. They fly a long way, right around the field over to my neighbour´s, and when they come back we shout "incoming!"

Mine will be allowed to fly when I've had them long enough that I'm sure they're not going anywhere, lol. For now I've only had them about a week and a half. Plus they're supposed to be in quarantine, darn birds.

What do you quarantine them for? All I ever do with new ones is worm them. (Not like chickens, of course, the numbers of diseases they can bring!)
Do you have a large area for them? I´ve only ever bought 4 adults, and they never did try to fly away. It´s safe here, no dangers at all if they stay in the chácara (homestead), they have two acres that they share with chickens, geese, they have food, water, bushes, grass and mud, so they´re happy. And I´ve only bought them from a good distance away so they have no idea where they´d want to go anyway!

Had to share the scene I came out to this afternoon while bringing out scraps to the birds

That's with clipped wings and all. Now what do I do.
Must not have clipped them enough. I only clip one wing on each of my Scovy's it makes them off balance so they can't fly. I'd love to let mine be able to fly all they want but we live right smack in the middle of the woods if they fly they will eventually end up in the river with no way to get home. except walk and that would be deadly for them.

They're quarantined only because they were living with the guy's chickens, and just in case the chickens were sick the ducks could technically be a vector to transit disease for awhile, just from contact, so that's why they're in quarantine - to keep my chickens safe till anything that could be in their feathers etc will have died :) After quarantine they'll be able to freerange when the welsh harlequins aren't. I have seven acres for them.

Oh, even better than here, then! Well they´re not likely to get off your property then, are they? How much longer do they need to be in quarantine? Don´t forget to show pics of them when they taste freedom!

They couldn´t get up there with clipped wings! How did you clip them? Or did they get a ladder hitched up on the blind side?
