My one Muscovy drake and his 2 girls had a small amount of frost bite this past winter, I spread vaseline over it and it helped protect it it never got infected at all.hey y'all, i don't have this problem yet but how do you treat frostbite?
http://bringmethenews.com/2014/03/08/cold-winter-takes-a-toll-on-ducks-swans/okay cool, here's another question what does frostbite look like? I'm sorry i'm just worried it was 21 degrees here this morning and some of them are still molting![]()
By now bleeding should have stopped, I'd still try and catch her so you can actually see what's going on.Well Lilly is soaking wet atm, I guess she took a dunk in one of the water pots.
They are becoming more personable, but I think she knows I'm trying to catch her and has enlisted her sister Truffle and the un named black pied drake to protect her. I'll check back around lunch to see if she's dry enough to try to get some cornstarch on her.
My drakes frost bite never got infected thank goodness but it did scab eventually the scab feel off but he still has a scar on his knobby flesh.Frost bite if infected will have to be removed.
