Question on before broodiness. I've heard that the hens will store up eggs so lob some will go bad.
Can I stack lots of fake eggs in the nest to encourage her to actually sit, like a chicken?
I've just heard that many eggs go bad by the time she has the amount she wants.

Well actually most eggs don't go bad, some will actually hatch before others do. I wouldn't place fake eggs, like store bout chicken eggs, those eggs will go bad in a matter of days, and make the nest septic killing the other eggs, see eggs have pores just like skin and thats why eggs need humidity so if the nest is septic then all other eggs will die to.

but like if you want to keep a female broody after her clutch has hatched then you can add fake eggs

I don't know where you are but I think I'd wait till spring for ducklings, so much easier on mama and babies.
