Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I'm putting a picture of my hubby "herding" the Muscovies back to their greenhouse from the garden. They are very well-trained. This morning, I opened the garden gate and the greenhouse door, then went back to the house for more water and when I returned, there were the Muscovies in the garden right where they belonged! In the evening, they probably would go back to the greenhouse on their own also. Today is now really, really windy, so I'm sure they are going to need to encouraged to leave their shelter in the garden and go back to the greenhouse. Ducks are so cool the way they train so easily!

I actually enjoy herding mine I even herd my chickens and geese. When my geese see me pick up the bamboo pole I use to herd them they automatically start heading for their house. Looks like hubby is doing a good job.

I didn't know that they were easily trainable. It sure makes it easier to get them inside as a group for sure.

Broad Breasted she is breed bred and supplied for food so i have been keeping her as a pet but she has too many problems being she was bred to get fat then eaten not too live a long life :(
thank you for the explanation. And I am glad she ended up with you as a pet rather than elsewhere as a meal. It is sad she'll go. Hopefully the boy won't go into a long funk over it. But at least he has some spring girls coming.

Yeah she has lived much longer then she was meant too and ive tried my best to let her have a happy life so :) yeah he will be ok

Argo, was drinking water from the ground, even tho there was really good fresh water next to her, but what was weird is that the water that she was drinking was coming out of her nose? Is that normal,

She drank a lot of water and now its coming out of her nose because unlike us if you turned her upside down her throat reflexes are pathetic compared to ours so if she ate/drank a lot she wont keep it down
