Muscovy keepers share your pics!

I totally agree with u hooken horns but whenever I stay up and hide outside I never see it and it never comes. My guess is that it comes early in the morning like 2:00a.m or something like that web the duks are truly a sleep/ comfortable. It doesn't target males, I'm guessing because it's smaller, and I'm guessing that it either is a mother in that case it's teaching it's babies soon, and if it's a fox then the father and mother take turns so if I catch one then I have to catch the other to, not meaning t sound like evil or anything but like it killed my babies so by killing the parents their babies will die too.

I think my black muscovy hen may have egg peritonitis. Does any one know if this is hereditary? She just started laying and today she was not herself. I am going to monitor her to see if this is indeed the case.

Would she be considered pied?

Hey Buck I might be of assistance in catching your killer. Dipping marshmallows in honey is a bait raccoons can't resist and can smell for quite a ways. I've caught several in our have a heart trap this way. If a fox is your issues try a fresh caught fish with a slit belly. Foxes can usually spot traps so camo is a must. If possible put it near a water source so they get less spooked. I was able to relocate a fox with this method before. Hope that helps. It's almost impossible to deter these animals I have the yard surrounded by thorny blackberries and mint with little luck. I also use a ghost pepper mixture with garlic and onions. That only seems to keep the rabbits squirrels opossums and skunks away. Hope it's not a coyote because they are extremely stubborn. My rott/sheppard mix has chased the same one several times in the early AM. Good luck and sorry about your ducks.

Not sure if it's hereditary but if you suspect I get he some place quiet where you can watch her give her plenty of fresh water and feed. Have you noticed any discharge from her vent? You can also let her float in some nice warm water and if an egg is stuck she may relax enough to lay it. you can feel her lower abdomen while she is in warm water and see if you feel an egg.
