Nice ducks! So I checked out your page...how come my ducklings didn't have the "mallard" spots? They were bright yellow to start. Now they look to have dark feathers coming in...possibly barring...hard to tell yet.

What is a beauty clip? Mine are still too young, but eventually I will have to clip their wings so they don't fly over my fence. . .

I wanted to post these pics for opinions. I THINK these babies, at least the yellow and gray one is at least half Muskovy. I say half because she's LOUD like a Pekin. My thinking is the black one is Cayuga x Muskovy? Any thoughts?

They were hatched the same day but the yellow one is MUCH bigger. The only thing I know is the black one is a male the other female.

The black one has been named Harley. Have yet to come up with a name for the female. I think I'm running out of cute names lol

The beauty clip I'm familiar with leaves the outer most one or two (two at the MOST) flight feathers uncut. (So 8-10 long flight feathers do get cut.) It keeps the illusion of long feathers when their wings are folded up, but there's not enough flight surface for most birds to get airborne.

Kinda like a mullet for ducks.

Here are some recent pics of mine - I passed on a drake and hen to a friend, and now have three (drake + 2 ducks) that I will keep and an extra drake that will get et.

I think there beaks are all wrong to be moscovy or even half breed, infact i heard that its difficult to get muscovies to breed with mallards, i might be wrong mind, whatever they are they are lovely !!!!
