Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Ya, my hands looked like that too. And they would ache! Some long thick gloves should help. Hold her head when you check (but they still can get you)
Welllll...... My worst hen I thought "at least she won't let anything in there"
But the day before hatch she was off the nest peeping. Upon checking I found a 3 ft garder snake. She went back next to her eggs but didn't dare mess with the snake .

Thanks!

if you don't have a cool place then ok. mine is sitting on 13 eggs, it is very hot but I lock her in a cool place and let her out twice a day. she drinks, eats and has a bath then goes back. this is my first time hatching muscovies and I can only wait and see.

Sadly, no we don't. Only in doirs, otherwise it's super hot. I'm also in the process of expanding and seperate ng and I don't want to have to move her with eggs again. That snapped her out of it. I don't want to remove their dog house though due to that being one of their shade choices.

Yesterday, our car showed it 120 degrees. I know it wasn't that hot, but was probably at 106

the same here (in greece). my broody hen didn't hatch any chicks, everyone says due to heat. I hope my scovie will hatch, she is doing well so far. when I come near the place where she is, if she wants to get out she squeaks and I let her out. I let her out about the same time every day and I also leave her a deep dish with corn and wheat covered with water. when she is hungry and thirsty she gets up. I have noticed that she poops only when she is outside.

Yes, very tipical! Heat does play a huge roll in fertile eggs going bad. N boy does it get hot here in Texas

I'm trying to work with my broody hen, but still not much of a change. She still attacks me when I check for eggs, give eggs, or remove eggs.. my bruises are bumpy, extremely painful, and the bumps are kinda firm. Idk how much more I can take with trying to work with her this time. What do I do to stop it?

wear leather gloves!!!. If the bump is hard that's scar tissue. Might not go away.

that sounds good to me I have a hen sitting on a muscovy egg in the shower on the cool side of the house. It will be my first too.
