OK
I can't find the plucking feathers post from here but this is what I came across. Might help.
from http://www.duckhealth.com/housmngt.html

Quote: Artificial lighting is less important for growing ducks. Ducks are nocturnal, and can find feed and water in the dark. However artificial light is important the first few days to assist ducklings in getting started drinking and eating. Totally confined ducks being grown-out for marketing, as in commercial production, are usually provided some light every day. It is also beneficial to provide dim light by means of low wattage bulbs during dark periods to help prevent stampeding if the flock is disturbed and to discourage feather pecking. During the development period of breeder-layer ducks, it is desirable to avoid either increases or decreases in day-length as much as possible. A recent publication entitled Poultry Lighting by UK scientist Dr. Peter Lewis and Dr. Trevor Morris (see Publications on Ducks and Related Publications) reviews research demonstrating excellent laying performance of Pekin ducks given a constant light regimen of 17 hours/day throughout rearing and laying. It is recommended that this resource be consulted for more information on lighting ducks

I would say black but has chocolate in him, I've posted this before I think, babies who aren't chocolate but have potential to have chocolate children show minor signs of chocolate such as on the face, or wings or tail, but that baby looks black, also by just looking at them at this age u really can't tell just by how they are shaped and stuff, it's personality at this age that gives it away
His body is black but head and neck are brown. toss of a coin then if he is chocolate but everything physical says drake.. First time lucky, guess, only maybe. Don't care cause I saved him/her and I love it. but thanks for input.

This is Larry (black headed drake) and Food (white spectacles)

These boys are about three months old

Food

My pretty blue eyed boys

Food on the left and Larry on the right, they are full brothers

Food

Sprocket, is only 2 weeks old

This is Deiter, full sibling to Sprocket....also only 2 weeks old (photos taken today 9/30/15)

I wonder if Food appreciates his name? NOT! You got
cute babies

We just butchered our first duck a few nights ago - one from a batched I had incubated and hatched and of course, named. It was hard to do!! We swore from now on we are not going to name any more of them unless they are named after something resembling food! I definitely understand the name "Food", haha

Any animal we raise for our families consumption we name Food....its always hard to butcher a critter I have raised and loved from a baby, but at least the animals have been allowed to live happily and have known kindness and love. I am always thankful for any animal for giving its life so my family can survive....still doesn't stop me from crying when it happens though!
