Muscovy keepers share your pics!

They are beautiful and I am sure the ducklings from these 2 will be beautiful. I have the opposite blk drake like your girl and solid white females and i actually got a chocolate out of the pair. so you never know which always makes it fun.

I also am waiting for mine to start laying eggs. I am excited to see what we get because I only have 1 male and 1 female and the male is solid white. When I got them they looked worse then this. They have cleaned themselves up and are getting feathers back in. They were missing feathers and were really dirty when I brought them home. I hope i get something other then White. I really don't care for this that are plain. They are growing on me but he is still so plain.

I am excited to say that I am about to set the first eggs from the lavender pair of Muscovy. I am not setting any from the black girl that I will be adding later but I have opened their eggs for a while now and they have been fertile (and yummy) so I am going to set them and see what hatches out. They are so beautiful to me! I named them Lila and Lance.

Congrats Amy you are way ahead of some of us, still waiting on that first egg.

When did yours start laying? I am still waiting on mine to start laying.

This particular female started laying about 2 weeks ago and gives me an egg pretty much every day. However, my black pieds and chocolates have been laying for several weeks with one lady having laid all winter long and is still going.

Well that just made me even more excited to know you had a chocolate. I hope I get a chocolate. I would love to have the lavender ones. I am still getting use to them. They are still growing one me but I hope that they start to lay soon. If is only February but it is almost spring and I am getting antsy.

Do you know how old your duck is? I am in the mts of NC and mine usually don't start to lay till end of March. But this year the weather has been rather funky and they have already started to mate so My guess is we'll see eggs sooner than previous years, but not today or tomorrow. Highs in the 30's lows lower teens. yuck.
It's always hard to wait for that first egg but it won't be long now.

Also you might post on your state thread and find someone selling Lavender eggs or even ducklings or ducks.

The ducks are suppose to be a year and a half old when I got them about 3 months ago. Everyone i talked to in Arkansas say it should be happening soon since our winter to has been very mild.

Blue has always been my favorite! This is when she was young, she has gotten much bigger, longer tail, and more caruncling on her face.

My silver hen has been laying for a while and I was taking her eggs so she got smart and hid them on the Man side of the coop, behind the feed cans, these are very smart birds. These eggs are due around March 10th (either silver to silver or black to silver) I am hoping for Blues! I would post a pic of her but she looks awful since she is setting and not bathing regularly...
