Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Hey everyone, do your ducks return to a coop at night? Mine have been out in the chicken coop since Thursday night and I opened the side door today so they can go out if they want but do they have that desire to return? I want to let them out to run and play but don't want to risk them running away (or me not being able to catch them lol)

Hi all Muscovy lovers!
I got a little Muscovy a couple of weeks ago and she's gone broody! Its funny because my mallard keeps laying her eggs right next to the Muscovy. The Muscovy just looks at the mallard with that "Are you serious?" face, and will just tuck in all the mallards eggs under her. She might have a some

She will love them just like they are Muscovy. My Muscovy's hatched Runners and Buffs this past spring and one of the scovy mamas still hangs with them.Aren't Muscovy's just so special. You girl is beautiful.

Congratulations!
I just had a Scovy girl hatch a Khaki Campbell and two scovies. I was impressed after the KC hatched that she knew to stay sitting on the other eggs. They hatched a week later.
Good luck with hatching.

They will return to where their food is. They may need some herding at first to get into a routine.

I herd mine back in at night. They have a route they have to walk each time but they get there eventually.

They got back fine tonight with the exception of 1 who disappeared on me. I eventually found her after hours of searching. She somehow wiggled under the house! I had to take the skirting off almost half the back side of the house and put one of the other ducklings right outside of the open area (in a cage of course) to bait her out. I thought she was happy to be out at first but it turned out that she felt safe under there and any time we approached her, she dove back under. It took some serious coordination between me, my two kids and a broom to manage to get her out and caught. Was definitely NOT fun lol. After we got the skirting back on, we walked the perimeter of the house and blocked the couple little gaps that we could find. Here's hoping their next outside adventure isn't as crazy!

LOL, I think we've all been there before

I call that a duck rodeo when I have to chase my ducks! Lol
Yee HAW!

Hi guys, maybe you can help me a little.
This sweet guy has been biting at his legs a lot lately. He's extremely pigeon toed and it looks like his knees are a little weak. He also won't climb into the pool or buckets any more to bathe. Any ideas why? He's over a year old (and should be molting based on his ratty plumage). It's time to select which of the year's offspring gets to stay and I don't want to keep ducks that could pass on genetics that give future ducklings crippled, painful bodies as adults. Could my buddy's problem be genetic or is it environmental? I didn't raise him so I didn't have any control over stuff prior to him coming here a year ago but at this point none of his offspring have it showing up yet. I didn't notice it early on when we first brought him home at about 5 or 6 months, but then again I wasn't checking and was just getting used to muscovies so I could have missed it. His feet/legs are so bad when he's standing at rest his inner claws often stand on the other foot across the other inner toe and he will sometimes randomly bite at his hocks when standing around. He also is not a frequent mater and prefers to dance with the girls until they lay down for him, then often sits down next to them instead of following through-even in the spring.

I'm really hoping it's something that happened as a duckling because he's such a friendly drake...so friendly I could not get a picture of his feet because he wanted his face in it. This is the least goofy one. He's always happy to see you.
