I too had Muscovy ducklings climb fences, cages, even wood! And they can jump a good amount of inches too! I had a fast make shift brooder made from cardboard boxes because it was a surprise hatch from a mama and it was too cold outside for them + was having a predictor problem. (A Common Grey Squirrel.. Yes you read that right a Squirrel!!)
Well any ways the boxes were a little over a foot tall, and the ducklings all jumped out of it. I came home a few hours later to find the brooder empty. I pulled the brooder away from the wall and there they were, snuggled behind the brooder on the exposed heat pad. It's amazing what they are capable of for such tiny ducklings!
