Aww, Sorry to hear that, Duck Keeper. That just bites!

Ugh, I was so excited! I guess it's good that I got some Appleyards from the eggs I actually paid for though, but I still fell stupid for having the temp too high... Thought I had turned it down.

Duck keeper, i know a lady here that might have some eggs she might be willing to ship. i have a few of hers in the bator right now, due on the 22nd. they're all mixed colors though. i wish mine were laying

i want to see more babies! besides, ducks eggs are much prettier than chicken, they feel like someones waxxed them, lol.

Keeper, his curuncles have really grown since his molt. he has a lot of the darkness on them but still very pretty. my last drake was nearly solid black/blue through his, he was just gorgeous.

Sorry, I was hoping that I had a good pic of a Scovy egg to post but I don't. Something I will be sure to do next spring. Hopefully, someone else will post a picture.

Anyhoooow, Scovy eggs are large, very waxy and just a bit off white. The first eggs seem to have more green splotching on them than the later ones.

Love everyones' pictures! KOTH, that duckling is adorable!!

Quackmire took his first "flight" yesterday, up onto our ottoman, and when done preening, back down again.....

I was ridiculously proud

And he is considerate enough to share his duckbed with the chunky chihuahua in the evenings....

We all just adore this duck. lol

Thanks for offering, but I think I'm going to wait until next year for more ducks...

I have TWO WHITE CALL EGGS OMG from the lady that gave me the 'scovie eggs, because she felt bad. I apologized for frying her babies {still mad at myself for that} but she didn't seem to mind too much. She's got like hundreds of birds, and had birds for over forty years!

I need to wait to incubate them though, since we're going away...

Awww, how cute that Quackmire is willing to share HER bed.

Either your chihuahua is a very large one or Quackmire is a girl. If she is mostly feathered in and is still that small.....yeppers... Congrats, you have a SWEET Girl.

I have a long legged 18lb male cat that my Scovy drakes may not outweigh but def. look as big as or bigger than.

I know, "he" is most likely a "she". We've called Q a he for so long it's hard to get into the habit of calling him "she". lol

The chi is a well-fed (fat) 8 pounds. So she's not very big at all. Q weighs just over 4 pounds and is about 11 weeks old. So yeah, we've all kinda figured he's a girl. (with a gender identity crisis if it's left up to me!)

Wow, an 18 pound kitty. Our biggest cat weighs in at about 13. I love big bodied (not obese) kitties.
