They do BUT i am finding if raising together from very young, they do seem to overcome this difference, showing the ducks level of intelligence once again. I have two buffs and two scovies together, the two scovies were premature hatches and i had bought the buffs before, they share about a weeks difference in aging and are all quite bonded to each other, they are two drakelets and two ducklets. The language is different but the communication to each other is clear.
