Those are some beautiful birds, spectrumranch! I don't know if I love the look of the chocolate mottled or the first pictured blue more.

I only have one hen left who is a year old so it will be fun to see how my younger Scovies feather out as they age. My blue drake has been developing some white here and there so I do hope he gets more.

Bleenie, Sidneys caruncles are very nice. I just love his face.

I know the one with the white head quacks . Its very very soft but the black headed one does nothing no noise no hiss or quack.

Do you know how old they are? It could be that the dark headed one is younger. Scovies don't quack, well, I should qualify that by saying... they kind of quack honk when they are having a feather pulled or some such.

The girls will chirrup & coo but the boys just hiss once they reach maturity.

Sorry that I haven't been back on BYC since last week.... We've been enjoying the weather dealing with all the trees that came over in the wind and rain. Won't complain (other than sad for the trees!) since we have nice weather in comparison to 7 degrees and the craziness that is your Scovies FREEZING!!!! Here I was worried because of how miserable everyone was looking in the days and days of storming weather we had...!!! The only ones looking rather un-bothered by the whole thing were my geese. Even Choco was anxious since the wind was rattling the whole barn. She completely lost her sense of humor and took to hissing at anyone near her nest instead of the Broody Hen Mantra "I am invisible. You do not exist." Things have calmed down here and I hope warmed up for you, Keeper, and everyone else!! Here's a picture of grumpy Choco.

I am anxiously awaiting these to hatch after going to the poultry show in Stockton on Saturday!! Took a fellow BYC-er 7 Scovy eggs so we'll see how they do.... He and his family are so excited about getting ducks that they may come up after Choco's hatch and take some home early
