Muscovy keepers share your pics!

Your not giving your ducks a chance to go broody, leave the eggs and wait, thats about all you can do at this point. she'll either go broody or she won't, like GQ said most Muscovy's are great brooders and mothers, but theres always the exception. but I think if you'll be patient you'll get a broody, I have 10 ducks and so far none of mine have shwon any interest in brooding, last year we already had duckling, so patience is the word here. Give them time.

This is all you can do. Honestly, one day you'll likely be posting how do i make it stop

I've curbed a couple this year already, thankfully the poor weather ad the pitter patter of little feet has kept it that way. I am NOT breeding anymore this year.(yes, ML.. i know

Hi everyone!!

I have to find a new home for my pet muscovy drake McIntosh, so I worked really hard to make a fun video compilation of his life in order to improve his chances of finding a good home. Please check it out and share with anyone who might be interested! I hope you enjoy it!

Here's a link to the thread I made that has his adoption info:

And since this is a picture thread, I'll post some of those too :)

Thanks!
Julie

I tell ya that was an awesome vido and pics, I have a MacIntosh his name is Opie, and I couldn't imagine parting with him, I don't know the details of why your having to give him up, I just hope you can find him a good forever home, he is one special boy. Brought tears to my eyes.
Might want to put it all here.. https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/16182/animals-in-need-of-free-re-homing

Thanks Miss Lydia, I am glad that you liked it :) I took your advice and posted in that link. We are moving to Hawaii and they forbid the entrance of ducks, otherwise we would fly him out there with us. I've never had to put an animal up for adoption before so I'm not sure what to expect in terms of responses, but I'm hopeful we can find him a good home.

I wish you good luck! Hopefully you will find someone for your drake

I might be able to sell my young muscovies soon to a member of my poultry club, but I don't really want to give them away. They are just so pretty, tame and my first ducklings hatched at my place for years.

I currently think about to let my duck breed again ( in case I sell the scovies) and give her some runner and pekin eggs this time. So far I have prevented any breeding attempt so I fear that I she might lose interest in going broody because of my daily robbery...

Please let us know when you find him a home, We are all very fond of our Scovies and would like to know. All the best.

Don't forget to put where you are, just city and state nothing more till you get a response, but even here it would help to have that info. Thanks,.
